Don't be lost for words.

Bad language is bad for business. Language in all its forms (written, visual and oral) is vital for your communication with your existing and prospective customers. In the last 20 years the number of available products and services have increased at breakneck speeds. This means that each day that passes, a customer or buyer has access to more and more products that do basically the same things, containing basically the same features and possess basically the same quality. And even if these things were not true, the absolutely huge number of offerings and the specialized nature of the services offered today make it very hard for someone to choose you based on quality of your product alone. Nowadays you will live or die by the feelings and ideas that you sell, rather than by the quality of your product itself.

We are not saying that you can make your company while flourish selling dubious products and services. What we are saying is that, nowadays, the customers will most likely pick you because of how your company makes them feel, rather than by what your company really offers. And that is why language is vital to your success. Language communicates meaning, images, ideas and feelings. Language can make your product conservative and safe or edgy and cool, it can make your company a personification of tradition and family values or the embodiment of progress and life on the edge.

Although all these things are true, we find ourselves surrounded by horrible self defeating language on a day to day basis. The internet itself is a treasure trove for bad usage and mistranslations. And we can't shield ourselves by saying that Asia has the monopoly on shoddy translations and questionable English usage. Even though the infamous Engrish has invaded a lot of reading space, they're far from being the only culprits on the matter. It is of paramount importance for your company and your business future that you clean up your language getting the aid of professionals and working alongside a reliable translation service company that can make your products inspire trust... rather than laughs.

What to do?

But how can you really guarantee finding quality translation services? On the one hand it’s crucial that the translation service has experience in the particular field of translation that you require (legal, marketing, technical or website) and on the other hand it is a big plus if they are employing native speakers of the target language (e.g. Spaniards or Argentinians for a Spanish translation service.) There is a vast array of reasons that individuals and businesses need translations. From dealing with multilingual contracts to divorce papers, medical papers to marketing literature, there are even more reasons that you should entrust your translations to the experts. Then, you can concentrate on the quality of your product rather than worry about the barriers that language can put between you and your most important business partners: your clients.
